Plain-language summary

  • You can initiate account deletion inside the Jornio app or submit a public web request if you cannot access the app.
  • Deletion is not the same as logging out or temporarily disabling an account.
  • Jornio removes the account's sign-in association, profile identifiers, private settings, and other account-linked personal records. Some authored content and shared history may remain attributed to "Deleted user" through the current process; that attribution change does not necessarily remove personal information from the content itself.
  • We may verify that you control the account before completing deletion and will provide status or completion information through the available contact channel.

1. How to delete your account

Use either option:

  • In the app: Settings > Account > Delete account.
  • On the web: start a verified deletion request.

The web option is available without signing in so that a person who cannot access the app can start a request. We may require reasonable identity or account-control verification before acting on it. A web acknowledgement or a support-case status confirms receipt or handling of the request; it is not confirmation that account or file erasure has completed.

You are not required to call or email support if the in-app or web deletion flow is available and working.

2. Before you confirm deletion

Account deletion is intended to be permanent. Save any content or information you want to keep before confirming the request. Logging out, uninstalling the app, or temporarily restricting an account does not delete it.

The in-app account-deletion flow schedules processing after a 30-day cancellation period. The request shows the server-provided cancellation deadline and scheduled processing time. You can cancel a scheduled request before that deadline through the available account-deletion action; once processing begins, deletion cannot be stopped. Account deletion is not a 14-day Journey recovery action.

If Jornio later offers a deactivation option, it will remain separate from full account deletion.

Deleting one Journey

Deleting an individual Journey does not delete your account. Where the Journey deletion and recovery action is available, the Journey and all of its Episodes are hidden from ordinary Jornio surfaces while you have 14 days to restore them. Use the server-provided recovery deadline: you can restore only before that exact deadline, and restoration is unavailable at or after it.

Restoration preserves the Journey's previous audience and access settings. It does not make a restricted Journey public or override a separate moderation, safety, copyright, or legal restriction. After the recovery period, the Journey cannot be restored through that action. Removal of every stored file, older storage version, or copy is a separate process subject to the retention and rights described below and in the Privacy Policy. The 14-day Journey recovery period does not apply to permanent account deletion or enforcement actions.

3. What deletion covers

The account-deletion process removes or de-identifies account-linked records, including where applicable:

  • profile and account settings;
  • email or authentication association;
  • private follows, likes, reactions, saves, local conversation settings, and recipient activity records;
  • account-linked analytics records and personalization signals; and
  • authentication sessions and tokens associated with the account.

Journeys and Episodes you created, comments, Help records, shared conversations, and some associated media may remain attributed to "Deleted user" through the current process. Removing the public profile or author attribution is not the same as deleting that content, and it does not guarantee anonymity: a picture, voice, text, or another participant's copy can still identify you.

Where available, use the separate content-deletion action before deleting your account. To request removal of personal information within retained content or an uploaded file, use the privacy request and identify the content without unnecessarily redistributing sensitive media. Account deletion does not limit your rights under applicable law. When such a right requires erasure of personal information or User Content, Jornio must apply it to the affected content and relevant processors, subject only to legally permitted exceptions; preserving shared history is not a blanket exception.

4. Information that may remain

Limited information may remain when reasonably necessary for:

  • compliance with law or valid legal process;
  • safety investigations, abuse prevention, and enforcement against repeat offenders;
  • fraud prevention and account-security records;
  • copyright, NCII, moderation, and dispute records;
  • establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims;
  • temporary backup retention; or
  • shared content or history subject to the rights and limits in Section 3; or
  • genuinely anonymous aggregate information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.

Content another person independently copied, downloaded, screenshotted, or shared outside Jornio is outside our control. Records needed for another user's account or a shared conversation may be restricted or de-identified rather than removed if deletion would impair another person's rights or a valid safety or legal purpose.

5. Timing

The in-app cancellation period is 30 days. It is not a guarantee that all data is erased on day 30 or that another 30-day period starts after processing begins. The request's server-provided deadline controls cancellation; completion is recorded only after the required account-deletion phases succeed.

Processing may continue after the cancellation deadline if a required step fails or needs verified follow-up. Use the request status for the actual outcome. Public content, retained conversations, safety or legal records, stored media, and backups have separate handling described in this page and the Privacy Policy. An applicable statutory request deadline still applies; a retry, support-case closure, or legal hold affecting particular records does not create a general extension for unrelated records. Jornio will explain additional time or a refusal where applicable law requires it.

6. Verification and request status

We may ask you to reauthenticate, confirm a code sent through an existing account channel, or provide limited information reasonably needed to match and protect the account. Do not send a password, government identifier, or unnecessary sensitive information through a general support email.

The deletion flow provides server-provided status for the in-app request and protected status or contact updates for a web request. If a request cannot be completed, we will explain the reason when legally and operationally permitted and identify any next step available to you.

7. Sign in with Apple and other authentication providers

Where applicable, Jornio revokes Jornio-controlled authentication sessions and provider tokens as part of account deletion. Deleting a Jornio account does not necessarily delete a separate account you maintain directly with Apple or another authentication provider.

8. Other privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, a portable copy, or information about Jornio's processing without deleting your account.

Submit a privacy request or contact privacy@cadenium.com. The Privacy Policy explains these rights and Jornio's retention practices.
