Moderation Appeals

Request another review of an eligible content, feature, or account moderation decision.

Plain-language summary

  • If Jornio removes or restricts your content or account and the notice says the decision is appealable, you can ask for another review.
  • Explain what decision you believe was wrong, identify the affected content or account, and provide relevant context without resubmitting harmful material.
  • An appeal does not automatically restore content or pause urgent safety restrictions.
  • Copyright counter-notices, NCII removal, privacy requests, and emergencies use separate processes.

1. Decisions that may be appealed

You may appeal a moderation decision when Jornio's notice or product flow offers an appeal. Eligible decisions may include:

  • removal or restriction of a Journey, Episode, comment, profile element, request, or other content;
  • a content label, warning, audience restriction, or recommendation restriction;
  • a feature restriction, suspension, or account termination; or
  • an enforcement action based on an alleged Community Guidelines violation.

Some temporary restrictions may remain in place while an appeal is reviewed, especially when the content presents a credible safety, exploitation, privacy, or legal risk.

2. Decisions that use another process

3. How to submit an appeal

Submit an appeal. Include:

  1. The account username or account identifier associated with the decision.
  2. The decision or case identifier from Jornio's notice, if available.
  3. The affected Journey, Episode, comment, request, conversation, or account feature.
  4. A concise explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect or disproportionate.
  5. Relevant context, authorization, or other information that was not considered.
  6. A safe contact method for status notices.

Do not reupload or attach content involving apparent CSAM, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, or another person's highly sensitive information. Identify its Jornio location instead.

4. Review process

Jornio will associate the appeal with the original decision and review available context, the relevant policy version, the information you submit, account history where relevant, and any safety or legal restrictions.

Where reasonably practicable, a reviewer who did not make the original final decision will review the appeal. Access to highly sensitive evidence is limited to authorized roles.

Jornio may ask for additional information. An incomplete appeal may remain pending until Jornio can identify the decision and understand the basis for review.

5. Possible outcomes

Jornio may:

  • uphold the original decision;
  • reverse it and restore content or account access where technically and legally possible;
  • change a label, audience, distribution, feature restriction, or enforcement duration;
  • replace the decision with a different proportionate action; or
  • close an appeal that is duplicate, abusive, outside scope, or cannot be verified.

Restoration is not available when the material independently violates another policy, law, court order, or valid specialized removal process.

6. Status and notices

Appeal status and outcome are communicated through the in-app decision notice or the protected request status and contact method associated with the appeal. The outcome notice will provide a reason at a level of detail that does not expose another person's private information, restricted safety methods, or legally protected material.

Submitting repeated appeals does not create additional review rights. Do not harass reviewers, impersonate another person, or submit false information.
