This summary is provided for convenience. The complete Guidelines below control.
1. Purpose and scope
Jornio helps adults document real progress as Journeys and connected Episodes. These Guidelines apply to every use of Jornio, including Journeys, Episodes, video, audio, images, titles, descriptions, comments, replies, profiles, links, participation actions, requests, accepted conversations, and reports.
The core rule is simple: use Jornio to make a real path understandable, not to harm, exploit, deceive, spam, or pressure people.
2. Adults only
Jornio is only for people age 18 and older. Do not create an account if you are under 18, create an account for a minor, help a minor evade the age gate, or misrepresent age eligibility.
Adults may discuss experiences involving their own family or community, but content involving minors receives heightened privacy and safety review. Never sexualize, groom, exploit, identify, or endanger a minor.
3. Authentic Journeys and accurate context
Journeys do not need to be polished or successful. Setbacks, uncertainty, and changing plans are welcome when presented honestly.
Do not fabricate a Journey, impersonate a participant, invent progress, manipulate evidence, use fake testimonials, or make materially misleading claims about what happened, who is involved, or how funds, organizations, credentials, or outcomes relate to a Journey.
Disclose material commercial relationships, sponsorships, and materially altered or synthetic media when Jornio provides a label or asks for that information.
4. Harassment, threats, and abuse
Do not post or send:
- credible or implied threats, intimidation, stalking, or encouragement of violence;
- bullying, targeted humiliation, repeated unwanted contact, or coordinated harassment;
- non-consensual sexual pressure or coercion;
- doxxing or threats to expose private information;
- content encouraging others to attack, shame, or interfere with a person; or
- content celebrating serious harm to a person or group.
Criticism and disagreement are allowed when they do not cross into threats, targeted abuse, or rights violations.
5. Hate and dehumanization
Do not attack, demean, dehumanize, exclude, or encourage harm against people based on protected or sensitive traits, including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, or serious medical condition.
Content may discuss hateful conduct for documentary, educational, counterspeech, or recovery context, but context does not excuse praise, recruitment, targeting, or instructions that increase harm.
6. Sexual exploitation and intimate content
The following are prohibited:
- child sexual abuse material or sexual content involving a minor;
- grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, sextortion, or sexual exploitation;
- non-consensual intimate images or videos, including digital forgeries;
- threats to create, publish, or distribute intimate content;
- sexual trafficking, coercion, or prostitution facilitation; and
- pornographic or explicitly sexual content.
If intimate content was shared without consent, use the urgent intimate-image removal process. Do not download, repost, or forward the material in order to report it.
7. Violence, dangerous activity, and illegal conduct
Do not plan, promote, coordinate, facilitate, or provide actionable instructions for:
- credible violence, terrorism, violent extremism, or weapon misuse;
- human trafficking, exploitation, kidnapping, or organized abuse;
- illegal drug production or distribution;
- theft, fraud, evasion, hacking, malware, or unauthorized access;
- dangerous challenges or self-harm methods; or
- other serious illegal or physically dangerous activity.
Personal stories, newsworthy context, prevention, recovery, and educational discussion may be allowed when they do not instruct, praise, recruit, or create an unreasonable risk of harm.
8. Self-harm, eating disorders, and crisis content
Recovery stories and non-graphic personal experiences may be shared with appropriate context. Do not encourage, romanticize, rank, coordinate, or provide instructions for suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. Do not shame someone for seeking help.
Jornio is not a crisis service and may not review reports in real time. If someone is in immediate danger in the United States, call 911. For suicide or mental-health crisis support, call or text 988 or visit https://988lifeline.org/ Opens in a new tab..
9. Scams, spam, and manipulation
Do not use Jornio for:
- scams, phishing, identity theft, fraudulent opportunities, or deceptive claims;
- fake accounts, impersonation, or misleading affiliations;
- malware, malicious links, credential collection, or hidden redirects;
- spam, mass unwanted outreach, engagement manipulation, or coordinated inauthentic behavior;
- scraping, botting, artificial metrics, or evasion of safety controls; or
- pyramid schemes or misleading investment, employment, or money-making claims.
10. No payment requests or fundraising
Jornio does not process payments, tips, donations, crowdfunding, paid help, paid introductions, subscriptions, escrow, or marketplace transactions.
Do not solicit money, provide payment credentials, pressure another person for financial support, or use comments, requests, profiles, or conversations to bypass this rule.
11. Sensitive Journeys and professional claims
Adults may document personal experiences involving health, recovery, mental health, legal difficulty, immigration, financial hardship, relocation, family change, or other sensitive subjects.
Keep these Journeys within safe boundaries:
- share personal experience, not a diagnosis, prescription, or professional relationship;
- do not present Jornio as emergency response;
- do not make deceptive treatment, legal, financial, investment, or safety claims;
- do not pressure someone to disclose information or accept help;
- do not publish another person's records or private story without authority; and
- use content warnings and audience labels when available and appropriate.
Licensed professionals remain responsible for professional, ethical, advertising, privacy, and recordkeeping obligations. Jornio is not a professional-services marketplace.
12. Privacy, consent, and personal information
Do not post another person's private information without permission. This includes home addresses, private phone numbers or email addresses, financial credentials, government identifiers, medical records, private messages, precise real-time location, or sensitive family, workplace, immigration, or legal information.
Do not record or publish a person in a private setting when doing so violates consent, privacy, publicity, recording, or other applicable rights. Blur, redact, omit, or obtain permission where appropriate.
13. Intellectual property
Post only content you created, have permission to use, or are otherwise legally allowed to share. Do not copy or reupload third-party video, music, images, writing, branding, or other material merely because it is available online.
You are responsible for clearing rights to music and video you upload, including background music and third-party clips. Artist credit, a purchase, or a streaming subscription is not by itself permission to publish. Any music supplied through a Jornio catalog may be used only within the stated license; it does not authorize unrelated uploads or use outside that license.
Use an external link card when linking is appropriate. Copyright owners may use the Copyright and DMCA process to submit a notice.
14. Content labels and audience restrictions
Accurately answer any question Jornio asks about graphic, sensitive, mature, sponsored, or materially altered content. A creator label does not guarantee publication.
Jornio may change a label, add a warning, remove a preview, limit recommendations, hold content for review, restrict an audience, or remove content. Content that is prohibited does not become permissible through an 18+ label.
15. Comments, requests, and conversations
Comments and participation must stay relevant to the Journey and respectful of its participants. Do not use them to solicit money, expose private details, move an unsafe interaction off-platform, or evade a block.
Jornio has no open, random, or anonymous direct messages. Messaging in a new personal conversation starts only after an eligible adult accepts the other adult's chat request. A request may start from a profile and does not require a Journey. The recipient may decline without explanation. Either participant may report or block the other.
Journey communities are voluntary. Eligible people can join an open community directly or request access when approval is required. Watching a Journey does not join its community.
16. Reporting and blocking
Use the in-product report tools where available to report content, accounts, requests, or conversations. Include the most relevant reason and enough context for review, but do not reshare harmful material unnecessarily.
The Reporting and Moderation page explains how reports are prioritized, possible outcomes, the difference between reporting and blocking, and why general reports do not have a fixed response deadline.
Blocking is available to stop new interactions with another account as implemented by the Service. For immediate danger, contact emergency services; do not wait for Jornio.
Use the process that matches the problem:
- non-consensual intimate imagery: urgent removal request
- copyright: Copyright and DMCA process
- account or general support: Support
17. Enforcement
Jornio may add warnings or labels, limit distribution, hold or remove content, disable features, restrict requests or conversations, suspend an account, terminate an account, or take other proportionate action.
We consider context, severity, credible risk, intent, account history, repeated conduct, attempts to evade controls, and legal obligations. Urgent safety content may be restricted before a final decision. Serious exploitation or illegal conduct may be reported or preserved as required by law.
Moderation may use user reports, automated signals, and authorized human review. Not every item is manually reviewed before publication, and automated systems can make mistakes.
Eligible decisions may be appealed through the moderation appeal process. Copyright counter-notices and NCII requests use their specialized processes instead.
